Solar Mining Farm Construction

Taking a mining farm in Spain as an example, we sorted out a relatively complete solar mining farm construction.

Mine construction scheme content

1. Project Overview

The user of this project is a mine in Spain at a latitude of 40°25'N. It is planned to build a photovoltaic power station + energy storage.
Requirements: Power generation for 10 3KW mining machines, continuous 24-hour power supply Analysis:
1. During the day, the photovoltaic power station can realize self-consumption and balance storage. In the evening, when the photovoltaic system goes dormant, the electricity demand of the mining area needs to be supplemented by energy storage.
2. According to the available information, the following information is known:
✱Solar panel: 560W, 2278*1134*35mm
✱ No land subsidence in the construction area
✱ The location of the mining machine is fixed
✱The power consumption of the mining area is relatively regular throughout the day.

   2. Preliminary Scheme Design

Form: photovoltaic + energy storage + off-grid (mains complementary)
1. Photovoltaic power station:
The daily electricity demand is 840KWh, and the photovoltaic power station is calculated based on 5 hours of sunshine, and a 210KW photovoltaic power station needs to be configured. Tracking bracket: middle and high latitudes are more suitable for oblique single axis
16 solar panels each, 24 units, 215KW in total
Advantages of inclined single-axis: three-point support, no shaking gap between the driving device and the rotating node, higher frame stability, strong wind resistance; each group can be installed with 10 -20 solar panels, and the inclined axis is 10°-30° Tracking the azimuth of the sun can increase the power generation by about 15%-25%; the structure is compact and the linkage units are few; the combination is flexible and adaptable; Equipped with an independent weather station to sense wind speed in real time and adjust the windward side of the system.
2. Energy storage: 
lead-acid battery energy storage, peak shaving and valley filling, storage of grid power during the valley power period of the mining area, and discharge during the peak power period for use by local loads
The battery can store 768KWH of electricity, and the photovoltaic panels can generate 874KWH per day based on 5 hours of sunshine. The inverter output power is 40KW. The output AC voltage is three-phase 380V or 220V. In continuous cloudy and rainy days, if the photovoltaic panel does not generate electricity or the battery voltage is low, it can automatically switch between mains power supply and generator power supply. The battery designed in this system can last for one day when the photovoltaic power station does not generate electricity and the power grid fails.
Note: 10 mining machines cannot be started at the same time, because the power of each machine will become 4~7 times at the moment of starting, and need to be started one by one before they can be used at the same time.
